Saint Joseph School Brookfield was re-accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges Commission on Independent Schools for the years 2007 – 2017.
In order to earn accreditation, SJS met the high standards set by the NEASC. A visiting committee of professionals evaluated the school in 15 areas, including mission, governance, educational program, experience of the students, finances, faculty and staff, and administration.
Successful renewal of accreditation, which takes place every ten years, demonstrates to our students, parents and our community that SJS provides a quality learning environment and meets its defined mission. In a letter from the NEASC, “the Commission commends the school for the extraordinary dedication and collaboration of the faculty, principal and administration, and for fostering spiritual and academic excellence.”
During the 10 year accreditation period, interim reports must be filed. In June 2010, the commission reviewed Saint Joseph School’s 2-year interim report and commended “the school for its efforts in marketing, building academic strengths, fostering community…” Director Mr. William M. Bennett expressed his “own personal congratulations to you for a job well done. Much has happened since your accreditation visit and you and your staff should be complimented.”
The commission requested a special report in April 2011 regarding our progress towards financial independence and new governance structure, for which SJS was commended.
These accomplishments represent the culmination of the collaborative efforts of the devoted and talented faculty and staff, St Joseph School Church, Pastor, Father Chip O'Neill, and many supportive and hard-working parents.
